Moscow Calls for Political Dialogue and Respect for Sovereignty
The Russian Federation has strongly called for an end to escalating tensions in the Middle East, following intensified confrontations involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
In an official statement issued via the Foreign Ministry's Telegram channel, Russia warned against continued hostilities and emphasized the need for renewed diplomatic engagement.
"Stop Armed Escalation Immediately"
The Foreign Ministry stated:
“We once again call for a halt to the unleashing of armed escalation and an end to provocative actions and rhetoric. Today, more than ever, it is vital to return to political and diplomatic efforts and compliance with international law.”
This message comes amid growing fears of regional destabilization following multiple incidents of military engagement between Iran and Western-aligned forces.
Condemns "Unprovoked Aggression" by US and Israel
Moscow’s statement directly criticized actions by Washington and Tel Aviv:
“We call for an immediate end to the unprovoked aggression of the US and Israel against Iran, open attempts at regime change, and encroachment on the sovereignty of nations.”
The language reflects Russia’s longstanding foreign policy principle of non-interference and opposition to unilateral military interventions.
Promotes Rule of Law and Multilateral Dialogue
Russian officials reiterated their commitment to international law and the United Nations as the appropriate framework for resolving such crises. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that further military moves risk triggering irreversible consequences across the wider region.
Diplomatic Channels "Still Open"
While the situation remains volatile, Moscow expressed hope that "cooler heads will prevail" and urged all parties to "demonstrate responsibility and engage in constructive dialogue."
