The Impact of Strikes on Iran’s Nuclear Programme ?

Israel has stated that recent joint US-Israeli military strikes have significantly damaged Iran’s nuclear programme, claiming the operation has set Iran back by “many years.”

This assessment contrasts with a leaked US intelligence report which suggests that the actual disruption may be far more limited, estimating the delay to be “a few months, tops.”

Speaking at a NATO summit, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth addressed the report, describing it as “preliminary” and based on “low confidence.” He declined to provide a more definitive assessment but emphasized the need for further analysis.

Despite the recent military action, the current ceasefire between Israel and Iran appears to be holding. Former US President Donald Trump commented on the situation, saying he does not believe the two nations “will be going back at each other.”

Meanwhile, conditions inside Iran show some signs of returning to normal. The BBC’s Lyse Doucet, reporting from Tehran, notes that the capital is beginning to resemble its pre-strike state, with public life resuming and daily routines re-emerging.The Impact of Strikes on Iran’s Nuclear Programme ?
